TEL NEANT Cropped

ZONGOLOPOULOS George, Tel Neant, Sculpture, Stainless Steel 183x124x80 cm 1998, Courtesy George Zongolopoulos Foundation, Athens

The works of George Zongolopoulos, non-representational or narrative in their majority, are distillations of mental processes pertaining to universal issues of matter, time, rhythm, form, harmony, dynamics and ideas; issues that cannot be described, yet they determine and inform the Cosmos. His observation of nature, his insight and sharpness that allowed him to see the “sunrise” of a new order of things and his interest in scientific and technological discoveries led him to the use of new materials, forms and techniques and to the development of his sculpture in space. This sculpture explores the ways people communicate between them and connect with the infinite.
