VAROTSOS, Costas, Anemos/Winds, 2018, Sculptures of various dimensions 2,2m height, Courtesy of the artist
From a very young age, the artist has been making works at a monumental scale that intervene in the urban fabric. His research has to do with the study of space. In this work the artist explores the possibility of activating space, a space that is used by the public while being at the same time an abstract concept. In order for it to be defined, it is always in need of a second element, in this case the wind. Apart from generating movement, the wind sculpts and shapes forms. It is to this sculptural ability of the wind that these works refer to, while resembling at the same time sails carriers of the winds from the Greek islands.
