A pioneer in performance art, the artist experiments with robotics, science and the limits of control over his one’s body. Placing the body of the artist at the centre of this process, Stelarc engineers performances, where the body is  “technologically enhanced” while testing the limits of corporeality. His daring works allow for new ways of thinking about the body, technology and the quest for agency in the threshold between them. In the case of Stelarc, the artwork is the artist’s body, where the audiences can observe a series of documentation of his performances, where he is testing the endurance of the human body even with surgery and prosthetics.
